Valentine's Day - together as friends
Cool! Friendship on a day of love - awesome blends!

This week, there are words derived from mythological gods and goddesses. They are shown in Word of the Day - anyone can subscribe.   The author of Word of the Day is Anu Garg.
For one reason or another - The Book of Myths, from formal schooling in Saskatchewan - is dear to me about gods as part of myths. Always liked mythological gods and goddesses' stories from family encyclopedias. Garg states that they have all left a mark on our language. Interesting. Look up her daily write on words to see more but there is one below:

Prometheus
from Anu Garg's Word of the Day February, 2012

"Waiter, there's a god in my language!" from Anu Garg's Word of the Day daily site. Google. Subscribe to enjoy daily!
The first god mentioned by Garg is Prometheus, from Greek mythology. Some of his claim to fame (or infamy) are:
"He made man from clay, stole fire from Zeus by trickery, and gave it to humans. For his crime he was chained to a rock and an eagle devoured his liver to have it grow again to be eaten again the next day. The name means forethinker, from Greek pro- (before) + manthanein (to learn). Earliest documented use: 1594."  That's what Anu Garg said about Prometheus.  Why for Valentine Day?
For love of men and women not Zeus!

:-( "SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW"

Same Song Different Artists
Interesting take on Song by, Walk Off the Earth,
"SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW"

:-(  SOMEONE WHO HAS DISAPPOINTED YOU

Gotye (featuring Kimbra) Song,
"Somebody That I Used To Know!"
Could be a person that you used to know but they have disappointed you so badly you do NOT consider them a friend any longer just- "Somebody that I used to know."  We've all known people like that.
Thanks for the singer's name! See below for more information. :-)

LOVE GOES ON

February 7 was Charles Dickens' birthday

He was 200 years old.  Found a quote by him to share with you close to Valentine's Day:
"A loving heart is the truest wisdom" by Charles Dickens from a book of poetry, "Better Than Gold" bought with $50.00 from a dear aunt and uncle on their 50th wedding anniversary!!  A kind gesture - a treasured book!

The next is en Francais: Je vous ami, Je vous adore
Qu'voulez-vous De moi encore!
Translation to Anglais: I like you, I love you
What more can you ask of me?  <3<3

"Rewrite of an earlier song that was too busy and went places, in retrospect, " Kent commented. He felt the rewritten lyrics were much better! Lyrics good!

LOVE ALWAYS AND EVER

ONE MESSAGE OF LOVE - CAN IT START
A FIRE OF LOVE?

Song by KENT R0GER ELLASCHUK with INLAND VIEWS
(from U tube)

Owen King talked in the Moose Mountain Church of Christ Sunday, January 22, 2012  about how difficult it is to get a message of love out to everyone. For one thing some people have been turned off of church for one reason or another. He said, “Humans are terrible at loving each other! We are NOT good at loving neighbours as ourselves!”  And starting out even opposed to church calls for a new beginning! One suggestion might be for a person wishing to change negativity to go into bars - love everyone equally regardless of race, colour or creed “may be needed more ( in bars or other places where people gather) than in church!”

***
Dale King announced some things that could be done to “do good.” He even suggested “When we do good do it in secret!” Radical!
***
After the caring and sharing was completed a lovely soup and sandwich lunch at the Moose Mountain Church of Christ was served as a smorgasbord and everybody went home their minds filled with ideas and their tummies satisfied.

Hockey Report - Terry Joseph William Dorrance

HOCKEY REPORT!

Unfortunately the above video will be no more on this Blog because the owner is jealously requesting that it is NOT to be shared by others. It is his video so I am going to delete it here.
I can not afford to go against copyright. I do not know much about that except that sometimes court is involved. I bow before that. Enjoy the calls of the hockey game below minus the video:
