ST.PATRICK'S DAY

Saturday was March 17th and St. Patrick's Day
The day you are either Irish or wish you were! :-)
Saturday night's Dinner and Dance was part of St. Patrick's Day in a town that has
Many Irish descendants. They treasure their St. Patrick's Day
And like to celebrate with everyone in the area - Irish or not!
Local Fire Fighters made it part of their fund raising
For a new fire truck and a garage to shelter it.
Community member Shirley McCarron of Manor wrote it best on Facebook Sunday, March 18, “What a great evening last night! Hat's off to our young folk (THE VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS)for hosting such a Fantastic Fundraiser. It's a lot of work. Big, big bouquets to you all!” She was speaking about the annual Manor Fire Fighters Fundraiser. There were many innovative ways used to raise money: Happy Hour; Silent Auction; A regular Auction; 50/50 tickets; Dinner catered by Rylan and his wife, Cindy Weir, with help from the other fire fighters; Then a fabulous Dance with a real life band, The Mike Lynch Band (apparently no relation to the local Lynch families!). The band was out of Niagara Falls, Ontario with Phil Bosley on guitar; Matt Keighan on drums and Mike Lynch doing guitar work, and singing! The friendly crowd was from many parts of southeast Saskatchewan as well as people coming from further afield. Amazing dance and evening for all. Sad to have to go home.
